Weekly roundup 32: A global sensation

You know, neither Brook nor I are big experts on social media. So the last few days our minds have been a little blown by how much love you've been giving us... especially on Tiktok of all places! We feel something like this...

We've been staring at our screens in disbelief as orders for the Heads Up playmat have been coming in from Germany, USA, Australia and beyond. It's kind of surreal to think of our little mat with our babies' faces on it shipping out across the world - thank you so much for making it happen!

It would mean the absolutely WORLD if you could leave a review here.

This week at GRASP HQ we've also had a lot of fun taking pictures of our new Mushi cleansing cloths in action. They make post-mealtime clean ups a dream and our kiddos have been giving them a good run for their money. They're currently being shipped to our warehouses and will be available online really soon. If you'd like a cheeky discount code for them, just reply to this email and ask for one. We're real nice like that!

Lots on the blog this week - so much that I've done you some handy summaries below. Read them now, thank me later ;)

We really love bath time, ok

At GRASP, it all started with bath time and washing. Human children aside, Brook's and my real baby is the Pebbl bath time brush, that we designed from scratch, prototyped to within an inch of its life, and which is now making its way to us for final testing.

Bathtime is the aspect of our kids' routines where it was most clear they could be empowered more and we as parents could have more confidence in them! So we're on a bit of a mission to reclaim bath times! Here's a bumper 4 new reads for you this week all about bath time!

The brands we look up to

Our Spotlight series features founders and brands that inspire us. Whether it’s empowering kids, inspiring parents, or making sustainable solutions part of everyday life, these are people who embody the values at the heart of GRASP. We hope these founder’s stories, the products they’re making, and their ambition to make a difference in the world also inspires you! This week, a double feature:

ruth sturdy founder of the book of you business the colour chronicles

Brook and I met Ruth a few years ago, long before GRASP, when we bought one of her beautiful Book of Yous for our oldest son. Ruth's beautiful books are a wonderful way to record your little one's precious moments and milestones. We love seeing how The Colour Chronicles have expanded in the last few years, and how much inclusivity matters to Ruth's vision for it.

bubbles and joy fun bathtime subscription box

A bathtime subscription box: need we say more?! A beautifully curated selection of bath toys and toiletries to entertain even the most reluctant of tots, Bubbles and Joy is all about using bath time as a chance to let kids explore and adventure and have fun! Founder Emily totally champions the idea that bath time is about so much more than washing - so naturally we love it!

I've run out of YMCA references

In our Village People series, we love to chat with the grown ups who make the proverbial village raising kids. Playgroup leaders, aunties and uncles, the school nurse... we really believe grown ups have a profound effect on the kids around them.

This week, we spoke to the truly wonderful Cara Broel, a mum and kids' reading enthusiast who reviews a new book everyday with her daughter, JJ. Don't miss this lovely read - and look out for some lovely recs, too!

the village people interview with the baby bookworm

Hey, if you have a special role to play in the lives of kids around you, we would love to feature you in this series - or your brand in the Spotlight series! Just pop us a message in reply to this email.

And now for something completely different........... Wagatha Christie

wagatha christie trial

I don't want to be dramatic but I really do believe we are living through a moment of British cultural history. Rebekah Vardy has brought a defamation suit against Collen Rooney for claiming Vardy leaked stories about her to the press - after a months' long 'sting operation'. Ron Atkins summarises the matter with characteristic succinctness. Things got messy. Watch here.
